The Gold Topstitch Needle's wear protection coating is made of titanium nitride, which is significantly harder than the standard coating and thus meets the highest demands for an extra-long needle service life. Thanks to the surface's unique level of hardness, the needle offers excellent resistance to abrasion and wear, meaning it has to be changed much less frequently than needles with the standard coating. As a result, it is the go-to choice for frequent sewers.
The Gold Topstitch Needle has a significantly longer needle eye compared to the Universal Needle or Gold Embroidery Needle: It is 2 mm long in all needle sizes. The longer eye provides more room for the thread and reduces friction when sewing. This means that two or even three threads at the same time and metallic threads can glide effortlessly through the eye and be handled gently without thread tearing. This is particularly beneficial for quilting and free motion quilting. The needle also makes it easier to sew buttonholes and also enables you to use decorative techniques with thicker threads, such as jeans threads or effect threads. Of course, the large eye also makes threading easier.
Thanks to its slightly rounded point, the Gold Topstitch Needle can easily be used with a wide range of fabrics. The durable needle point creates precise stitches and clean results, while also preventing damage to the material.
The special blade design also ensures high needle stability and thus reduces needle breakage and skipped stitches. This makes it easy to handle even thick layers of material and multi-directional sewing projects, such as quilting and embroidery.
