Our anniversary quilt festival will take place on October 11 and 12, 2025 in Wiener Neustadt in the Kasematten.
A worthy ambience for our anniversary quilt festival!
We have chosen a setting steeped in history.
The old town fortifications of Wiener Neustadt were extended from 1551 to 1557 with vaulted cellars for storing weapons.
In later centuries, they were deepened further and further.
From 1936 to 1938, the cellars were converted for civilian use.
The casemates were partially destroyed during the Second World War and were not open to the public for many years.
It was not until 2019 that they were renovated as an exhibition and visitor center for the Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition.
We visited them in January 2024 and found them to be ideal for our purposes with the 3 large, well-lit basement tubes and a 500 m² newly built, bright event hall.
